Hello and welcome to my page!
My name is Janis (Yaa-nis), and I am a Software Developer from a small village in Latvia, living in the UK. At a young age, I studied Computer Programming, but later decided to pursue another passion of mine - Music Production.
Music Producer
I studied and worked hard to achieve that dream. In 2015, I became a founder and an owner of the Music Production studio. I worked with international artists, creating radio advertisements, marketing campaigns and directing music videos.
This experience heavily influenced my current career as a Developer. Driven by a desire to create, I have independently taught myself Unity and 3D modelling. I enjoy learning complex systems and solving real problems in a creative way!
Developer
For the past 5 years, I have worked as a Lead Unity Developer, taking ownership of the software that helps people create custom fitness frames. I engineered the program, managed overhaul and streamline companies sales process while engaging with customers directly.
I thrive on honest work, and happily take the charge and initiative to create something better. Whether it's a player enjoying a game without interruption, or a sales company looking to eliminate manual labour - I enjoy building systems that will run in the background, helping businesses do the right thing. I like to be useful and stay actively involved in the business decisions.
Efficient Human
My greatest strength is solving problems that don't come with a manual, analysing every source of information and utilising every tool at my disposal to build user-centric software that withstands the test of time. Understanding of complex ecosystems like 3DS Max, Unreal Engine and Unity (and my personal passion for gaming) taught me how to create software that feels logical and rewarding for the user.
I advocate for using technology as a tool, not a human replacement. With the right software and a willing mindset, teams can use new technologies to do more and help businesses grow.

My happy place is somewhere up on a mountain with a cup of tea.
